Memorare Council #3476 Sponsors "Pio"

Through The Guid Dog Foundation

Memorar Council #3476 of the Knights of Columbus through the Guide Dog Foundation sponsored a  puppy dog named "Pio".  He was named to honor a new Saint of the Church "St Padre Pio".  Through his intercession many miracles continue to happen.

Mr. & Mr. Bob and Yoka Heijstek, and their daughter Erica Manen, the puppy walkers for Pio, introduced him to various exposures in all life settings at their home and surroundings in Massachusetts, and laid the foundation for his rigorous training, at the Guide Dog Foundation in Smithtown.

On October 2nd, 2005 Grand Knight Al Bukofzer and his wife Florine, along with Past Faith Navigator of the Padre Pio Assembly #2718, Anthony Fuina and his wife Barbara attended the graduation with great pride of Pio's accomplishments.

Mr. Michael Hopkins, a Vietnam Veteran, who lives in Fort Meyers Florida, is the recipient of Pio, a Lab and Poodle mix.

We pay tribute to PFN Donald Gulli's memory, for the dedication he had for this wonderful cause in the past, and we thank Carlo Ruggiero and Sal Canzoneri, and all who have been involved in the fund raising for this great cause in continuing his work.
